Great place for books and scout uniforms!
Wow. Google calls this place a "Department Store." Hmmmm. It may have been that one at a time, but over the course of 3 or 4 decades it has morphed from that into a party supply store, followed by (mostly) a bookstore with a corner of the place dedicated to Boy Scout uniforms and book supplies. Yeah. If that sounds weird, it is because it is. But hey, they have TONS of interesting stuff. Make sure you have a few hours to burn before walking in the door. The guy running the place is fun to talk to. Has a pretty old school feel to it. If you are feeling adventurous (and by that I mean, like "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom Adventurous") then take a trip down to the basement... if you can find the light switch....
Went in to purchase supplies for my son for scouts. Store owner was in back of store talking on phone the entire time we were there and I wasn't able to find what we needed. We dug around through piles of stuff to try and locate the right items. We waited patiently at the checkout to have him ring us up, and the prices were exorbitant (the markups here are ridiculous!). We paid for our items and ended up not making it home with everything we paid for, it wasn't put into the bag by the owner. Tried calling numerous times to ask about the missing items, we just get a fast busy signal. The store was dirty and cramped and overloaded with so much stuff, locating what we needed was nigh impossible. Terrible shopping experience overall.
